What are your expectations when you open your cassette player door and put in an Old School Death Metal cassette? Intros? Putrid vocals? Roaring sound? Slaying riffs? Maybe a cover of a song once made by a respected Death Metal band?

You can check all boxes with Phatasmagore’s “Abominations…”. If you replace the over-the-top drums of Mortician with mid-tempo drums, you can consider this demo as a rotten mix of Mortician, Necrophagia and Rottrevore’s demo “The Epitome of Pantalgia”. Besides 2 songs of their own, they have covered Necrophagia’s “Blood Freak” of their “Holocausto de la Morte” album to end this well-done demo.

Old School Death Metal and Chile, it seems to be a damn fine combination the last couple of years. (Ricardo)
