Dakhma – Blessings Of Amurdad

Dakhma, Blackened Death Metal, from Zürich Switzerland are back, well as of 2021 that is, with their sophomore, and still latest, full-length album in the rather good ‘Blessings Of Amurdad’ here.

And what do we find in the ‘Blessings Of Amurdad’? Well, what we find what the normal Dakhma sound has always been. Blackened Death Metal akin to Tetragrammacide and Teitanblood with a little of modern era Behemoth, well, in that area but through the years they have adapted and forged their own identity, their own sound. Still very much Blackened Death Metal but very much Dakhma themselves.

To be up front and honest, this is the first time hearing anything from Dakhma and had to go back and check some earlier work out before I could really write this. And I have got to say that ‘Blessings Of Amurdad’ is their best, most concise and most original sounding work yet. The progression in every aspect of their art (especially in the overall songwriting department) is outstanding and what really sets them apart.

It’s good, it’s really damn good. I really enjoyed the shit out this album and think it’s really damn good. I have had a hard time writing anything for this review only because I was just enjoying it to much to even form thoughts or ideas on what to write. So yeah, it’s really good and really enjoyable (in a Metalhead way).
