Death, Dissection, Iron Maiden, Demilich, Morbid Angel and many other things in one album, sometimes 1 song? Well, this is VoidCeremony!
The guys from the US, featuring members from Ascended Dead, Funebrarum, or ex-Skeletal Remains/ex-Ghoulgotha to mention a few, just released their debut full length after 3 excellent EPs prior to this. “Entropic Reflections Continuum: Dimensional Unravel” is the quite long title, but it fits the album very much, because you really are going to witness a dimensional travel.
Blood Incantation might be the actual primus in the prog/tech genre the way here presented, but VoidCeremony could be the next thing stepping, with the advantage that, in my opinion, they have an even more authentic sound.
The material will probably need more than just a few spins to most of the listeners to show the full range of ideas and multitude this record offers, but once you gave a proper listen to every detail you will be rewarded with tons of riffs, transitions, technical jawdropping material and smile-provoking sections.
For example, If you would like to know how an instrumental has to be done to be interesting, wide ranging and brutal, then check out “Binded to Unusual Existence”, pure wizardry!
“Abandoned Reality” has Death, Morbid Angel and Stargazer moments in it, as well as some Black Metal riffing, the Scandinavian way, which also shows how the band is capable to intertwine all these things into one.
Excellent job by drummer C.Koryn who engineered the record and Damian Herring for the mix and master, excellent job here. Props also to Ivory Crux, she did an astonishing front cover, a female body part presented in a very beautiful and fascinating manner, not from this dimension.
Death Metal is still capable to spawn interesting music and to evolve and VoidCeremony are pushing things further, killer debut, definitely a record to purchase If you like it twisted, alien and multidimensional!
