Info

Décryptal comes from Quebec, Canada and ‘Sabazios Culte’ is their debut EP with 5 tracks of utter darkness. What you are going to find here is pure Immolation/Incantation worship. Heavy guitar riffs that create a grim and ominous atmosphere, predominantly slow to mid-tempo drumming and deep growling vocals are the ingredients of this EP. You will not hear any technical wankery, no 100 notes per second or twisted finger-breaking guitar leads. Actually the first very short guitar lead that one can hear is in the fourth track ‘Fletrissement’. Décryptal offers pure darkened Death Metal for the real fans of the old-school extreme underground sound. There is no need to analyze the five tracks in ‘Sabazios Culte’ one by one, they form one evil sonic creature. The sound is raw and dirty, the way it should be for those types of releases so nothing is over-produced here. Décryptal doesn’t do anything ground-breaking or unheard of but there is no need for that – you either love this kind of Death Metal or not. What they do they do well and I am eager to hear what they will come up with in the future.
