A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

I have to admit I’m always sceptic when I receive a project or band with Rogga’s name on it, because the similarities are quite on the surface with some of them, also I’m more of a quality than a quantity person. But I do have to say I admire the fact that he is the only one on the world who can fool the system of time. Or he is one of identical triplets who have the same musical taste and skills, otherwise I just can’t understand he is able to create so much music.

Eye of Purgatory is a new one for me, although there are similarities with other of his projects. All tracks are in the Swedish Death Metal sound, although this time it is more melodic than for example Paganizer. It is more in the vein of the melodic side of early Edge of Sanity, Demonical’s “Darkness Unbound” and Centinex “Diabolical Desolation”. An enjoyable album and I recommend the opening track “The Hause On The Edge Of Hell” which is a 10 minute track with an unadulterated Black Metal part in the middle and well executed. Not a bad album at all…
