The new Cryptopsy! After hearing ‘Whisper Supremacy’, I wondered what the band would come up with next, and listening to this, I am not disappointed at all!
The nine tracks, some of which are quite long by Cryptopsy standards, are all of immense brutality. A whirlwind of extreme violence, that is what it is. It seems Cryptopsy has set even higher goals for themselves this time, and you can bet your ass that these have been reached as well! Magnificent songs, bursting with breaks, speed changes, killer riffs and solos, the somewhat ‘typical’ Cryptopsy sound, ferocious speeds, some bizarre twists, and very high musical skills, all presented to you in an incredibly tight package. They limit themselves to nothing, and the abilities of these guys seem indefatigable.
There is so much going on in just one song that it might take you some time to comprehend it all, but when you do… damn! At the beginning of the last song, you get some time to blow off steam with a didgeridoo part, ‘I’ve got a problem…’, but after that, it is right back to the madness.
The sound on ‘And Then You’ll Beg’ is not as brutal as on ‘Whisper Supremacy’, but it sounds clearer to let you hear everything very well without really giving in on heaviness or brutality.
This is yet another class album by Cryptopsy on which they go even further than before, and every Death Metal freak must have it! Buy it now!
