A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Listening to this album on 31 December 1999 gives me the chills of the coming dawn of the apocalypse. Although I don’t believe in the end of the world-crap, Vital Remains gives me reason to fear the nearing midnight!

Vital Remains is one of those bands that uses many influences and make an own style out of it which could satisfy my needs from their first album on. For those who don’t know them: they offer you lengthy songs which are well-structured, have a lot of variation (some acoustic guitar and keyboards in not obvious places ) and are played with great skill. So they offer quantity and quality.

On this album they’ve included an intro, 6 tracks in the pure Vital Remains style, an acoustic song and a cool song named ‘The night has a thousand eyes’. This one sounds a bit Industrial, New Wave and Death Metal. I know this doesn’t make any sense but just check it out yourself.

Their new vocalist, Thorn, who wrote this song has already been kicked out of the band so hopefully they’ll find a great new one so they can tour again.
