The history of The Haunted is likely well established; yet, whilst their initial three albums garnered many devotees with aggressive Thrash Metal, the last twenty years have seen a quieter reception.
They continued to release records, though they made less of an impact.. With ‘Songs of Last Resort’, they partially return to the familiar riffs and melodies of the pre-2004 era, but they unfortunately don’t maintain it as the album progresses. The real venom is found at the beginning, with ‘Warhead’, and ‘In Fire Reborn’.
It could have been a solid EP, much like ‘Exit Wounds’.
