Dies Irae – Immolated

dies irae – immolated

Info

This is the band of Vader guitarist Mauser. He started this band in 1992 and after having released a debut demo, he joined Vader in 1997, thereby signing Dies Irae death certificate. After a couple of years they recorded this album in a new line-up (featuring Novy from Devilyn, Hiro from Sceptic and Doc from Vader). And after sending their promos to the labels, they signed to Metal Blade. So far for the bio.

Would it surprise you if I say that Dies Irae sounds a lot like Vader? I don’t think so, Tim! But does this really matter? No, I don’t think so! Dies Irae also play some high class Death Metal and they have several great songs to offer us. Of course they are mostly playing fast, why the hell would you need a drummer like Doc for if you wouldn’t let him kick some serious ass? Just listen to the title track, hell yeah! The only track which is mainly doomy mid-paced is ‘Lion of knowledge’, of which also a video is included on the CD. I would like to mention the artist who made the killer artwork & cover, Jacek Wisniewski. He’s also responsible of some of the killer covers of Vader’s albums.

So for all you freaks addicted to high class Death Metal, this one should be in your collection!
