Poland’s Black Metal scene has always managed to deliver over the years, though the style changes with every era. From the raw 90s to Mgla, who put the Polish scene back on the map in their own way, there are examples aplenty. These waves over time bring good, bad, and mediocre albums to the surface, and I feel The Black Disorder belongs in the latter category.

The Black Metal here is chaotic, and the militant, almost Industrial-style drum machine doesn’t do much to help the overall flow. The guitars have a Death Metal edge, which prevents it from always feeling like pure Black Metal. You can certainly hear traces of Mayhem during the ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’, period, but it lacks the haunting atmosphere and the hooks that stick after a spin of that classic record.

After a few listens, the feeling persists that this album simply won’t hold its own against much of the material being released today.
