A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

In Germany, guys of Mandatory, Destroyer and Iron Kobra joined forces for some Old School Death Metal under the banner of R.I.P.. At first this EP was self-released on digital platforms like Bandcamp as a self-titled one, but Brutal Cave Productions and Life After Death renamed it as “As Good As Dead” for their CD and cassette releases.

It all starts with a nice UK influenced Doomy part which develops into a groovy mid-tempo Death Metal stampede which is the main course for this EP. Obituary, and therefore Celtic Frost riffs, is the connection you’re looking for, along with Autopsy, Morgoth and early Jungle Rot. The outcome is an overall mid-tempo groovy Death Metal EP with occasional slower passages and sick vocals.

And certainly a nice one! (Ricardo)
