Symphonic Black Metal can be “to much”. To symphonic, to musical “crowded”…to much of everything. Fortunately Mist of Misery is able to keep everything in balance and created a fine album which is filled with bombastic and melodic well played parts. They even took some of the Depressive scene-riffs (opening riff of “Epitaph of Penitence” ), but again, everything in balance. If the dark and depressive ColdWorld songs combined with the fast symphonic part of Dimmu Borgir and melodic side of late Naglfar, sounds appealing to you, you will do yourself a huge favor to check Mist of Misery out!
