Nadsvest – Slovo meseca i krvi

nadsvest – slovo meseca i krvi

Info

Nadsvest is a Black Metal entity based in Serbia, comprised of the native Serbian S./Stefan Todorović and A./Andrew Murray-Campbell from New Zealand. S. (active in Gorgoroth) and A. (from Barshesketh, Belliciste) met in 2015, and joined forces to form Nadsvest. After an EP and a split with Portugal’s Necrobode, Nadsvest have recorded their debut album. I saw the light in the turbulent months of May 2024.

Musically, the band taps from the barrel of Bestial Black Metal – injected with militarist ritualistic drumming – alternating to modest blasting and doomy passages, coarse bellowed operatic roars alike Attila from Mayhem, acidic guitars tearing from left to right, harrowing keyboards in the background. Still there’s room left for acoustics and melodic Slavic influences. Other influences include Culte Des Ghoules, Mayhem, Necromantia, Azazel, several Finnish Black/Death hordes – bands that rely heavily on atmospheres. The main theme or concept behind ‘Slovo meseca i krvi’ is lycanthropy & the transformation from man into werewolf. A theme that was also featured on the EP I believe.

Production (recorded in Serbia & Scotland) is very good, it’s meaty – it perfectly channels the bestial musical chaos of Nadsvest and it’s noisy without becoming truly annoying. In all we have an extreme band that draws inspiration from several genres, blending it into a style of their own.

Fans of more Extreme Black Metal and Bestial Black/Death need not to hesitate.
