We are standing in front of the creation of D. Johansson, the man responsible for playing all the instruments on the EP, and the first thing I find when clicking, is the avalanche of high production that the opening track enjoys. This high production remains intact until the snake bites its tail. Everything is audible and perceptible instrumentally speaking without any problem. I would say that any ear that is not trained in Black Metal will be able to appreciate what I say. Johansson, who has left good works in Wormwood’s past, attacks shooting with a powerful intensity, especially in the guitars and drums, but it is in this last instrument where he raises all kinds of rhythms and arrangements injected with a solid and concise hit without leaving a break. An example would be ‘To Pledge Allegiance To The Void Beyond,’ where the crushing march of the drums is accompanied by tremolo guitars; a bass at a good volume with presence and a bit of distortion. The reverberated voices do their job, but do not stand out above the other instruments.
Sweden for decades has always been in a prominent position as an exporter of Black Metal bands with countless works that have been pillars of the Black Temple, and ‘Primal Judgement Manifesto’ is an example of that diabolical and ancient Swedish heritage with songs that manage to captivate the listener. The use of cold melodies, a good composition, and the quality of production where the work of the mix and the mastering of the product stand out and make the 25 minutes of duration pass like a deathly exhalation. A song to highlight is ‘Of Condemnation, Death and the Holy Ghost’, which explodes with the intensity of its predecessors, but suddenly goes off the rails at minute 7 to die in an outro disappearing like a ghostly emanation in fade out.
