A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

The melodic Death Metal of Detonation was quite interesting for me, back in the demo days till their debut “An Epic Defiance”. Nothing really special, but a good listen in the 1990s Göteborg vein and if I remember correctly, without those dreadful clean vocals during the chorus. A decade later (this was first released by the band themselves in 2011) the melodies and the 1990s Göteborg influences are almost all gone. A more modern sounding Detonation with still some Björler influences in the riffs. And that having said, more towards The Haunted than At The Gates. It is without doubt clear these guys are fine musicians, I do hope they will create more memorable riffs/songs with their new album. If Björler can do it…(Ricardo)
