I welcome you to a world where sorrow, expressed through Black Metal, takes us on a journey with the inevitable as our final destination, of course.
Hænesy hails from Hungary and has been active since 2017. In 2021, they released their album ‘Garabontzia’ through the fine record label Purity Through Fire. As soon as the album begins, a wave of melancholy washes over us, although I wouldn’t strictly characterise it as Depressive or Suicidal Black Metal.
Featuring 7 songs and a substantial runtime, the album delivers plenty of cohesive blast beats alongside slow, melodic passages filled with anguish… Great vocals and an overall impressive recording that is a true pleasure to listen to, especially if you’re a fan of the unique Swedish band Shining.
Get it, listen to it, and enjoy it… let yourself find serenity, because with ‘Garabontzia’, the end will surely arrive sooner.
