A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Whoredom Rife and Taake allied on this split with 2 songs both, where Whoredom Rife have 2 new tracks of their own, Taake has covered Sister of Mercy’s “Heartland” besides contributing with a previously unreleased song on this split.

Whoredome Rife continue their Black Metal journey they started back in 2014. They don’t dissatisfy as they give what one may expect because the riffs, vocals, compositions and melodies are spot on Scandinavian Black Metal of which “En Lenke Smidd I blod” is a good example.

Taake, being the more famous ensemble of the two, or better yet Hoest is playing his unique sound once again which will appeal the Taake fans of his nowadays work. I can’t say I’m thrilled about his “Heartland” version which has to do with the first 2 minutes of the track which contains distorted bass and ditto vocals only.

Therefore for me, Whoredom Rife is the winner of this split.
