A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Lie in Ruins from Finland released a lot of stuff between 2005 and 2009; 6 titles in different formats to be more precise. After the debut full-length “Swallowed by the Void” it became quiet within the Lie in Ruins-camp. Now, 5 years later, they have a new full-length by their new label. And you get 71 minutes of pure, dark, gloomy, often mid-tempo Old School Death Metal, in the good old Finnish vein mixed with the massiveness of a band like Incantation. The closing track even lasts for 11 minutes. Ofcourse there are some pace-changes, like on “Blood of the Dead” or the beginning of “The Jaws of the Wolf”, which has some up-tempo outbursts as well. If bands like Krypts or Corpsessed are something you like, Lie in Ruins wouldn’t disappoint you either. For some the tracks will be tedious and the vocals to monotonous, others like to swim in the pool of the obscure and sinister impurity. (Ricardo)
