Ageless Summoning is a British Death Metal band. Their vision is centred around expanding territory that Morbid Angel once pioneered with their (great) album ‘Gateways to Annihilation’. Thus this is Death Metal that’s crushingly heavy, with a heavy emphasis on mid paced riffs.
‘Corrupting The Entempled Plane’ is, however, more than just a sequel to 1998 Morbid Angel. This is a well crafted record with a distinct taste for dragging rhythms, eerie guitar dissonance and fast pounding drums. Vocals stand out too, in that they’re enunciated, but very dry and deep as well. The overall atmosphere is one of doom ridden morbidity.
