A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Any self-respecting metalhead can recall that moment they first heard Incantation. The power and the ominous darkness exuded from your speakers and the sound that proliferated your very being. Yeah, maybe I am getting a tad melodramatic, but in some or many ways, you know this to be true. This latest EP from Father Befouled conveys much of that same sentiment for me. Throw in the prime sound of Disma and Funabrarum and you have a release that for its size, (this is an EP) packs a hell of a wallop.

Also besides the 3 new original material, they do a take on Morbid Angel’s ‘Pain Divine’. Now with Morbid Angel and their original rendition, it was fast and chaotic almost bordering on Grind. But with Father Befouled theirs is a bit more restrained. Much like a lumbering and lurching zombie ever persistently approaching you. They also have a cover of Abhorrence that remains faithful to the source material.

Overall, you can not go wrong with this release. Production is excellent and conveys the right mood between the sound and the atmosphere.
