A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

An anonymous band from Portugal delivering some relentless raging Black/Thrash Metal with a sharp grinding edge, that’s what Hate Propaganda is all about. Back in 2019 they released their one and only EP on cassette tape by War Arts Records. Sentient Ruin Laboratories thought the material was good enough for a 10” vinyl release, which saw the day by the end of 2022.

Titles like ‘Neverending Mass Graves’ and ‘Welcoming The Nuclear War With Open Arms’ may already reveal what we are dealing with: little subtlety. The music presented on this EP clocks just under 20 minutes and is interspersed with several samples, but for the most part it is just downright ugly, grinding Black/Thrash Metal. Do not expect any nice grooving Black/Thrash Metal in the vein of Aura Noir or anything that sounds remotely melodic. In fact, this is so much closer to the blistering Death Metal infused chaos of bands like Archgoat, Abysmal Lord and Proclamation than to the more melodic or swining fashion of Desaster, Gospel Of The Horns or Deströyer 666. Its pounding nature and relentless suffocating atmosphere is definitely not for the faint of heart and you should not be averse to a good dose of chaos and brutality to be able to enjoy this. If you consider yourself a seasoned fan of all things extreme, you should consider giving ‘World War 666’ a chance.
