Abolish’ debut album has been unleashed upon us by FDA-records. An intense Turkish Death Metal assault, that helps you get rid of the earwax you’ve been saving up for years.
‘…From The Depths’ at first, delivers a very claustrophobic, hermetically and monotonous sound image. Especially Lucy Ferra’s (also active in Inhuman Depravity) low and grating grunt contributes a major role in the overall sound. It took quite some spins before all details, which this album is rife with, came bubbling to the surface and providing an average running time of 6 minutes with each track, you get your money’s worth.
This debut album requires effort from the listener and is extremely suitable to undergo with a decent pair of headphones on your skull or to blast through your speakers during a lonely, sleepless night. Check out ‘Ruins Of Empire’ first, the track opens with a venomous riff, slightly leaning towards Black Metal, which will stick in your head for days. Quite the opposite is ‘Curtain Of Night’ a slow moving monstrosity, deeply embedded in thundering double bass drum rolls.
In their Bandcamp bio, FDA-records states that Abolish’ morbid and rotten Death Metal would be very suitable for fans of Grave Miasma, Disma and Cerebral Rot. I would like to add Incantation to that list, due to Lucy’s infected throat.
Check ‘em out.
