A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Sweden’s Filth has arrived to foul the air with ‘Time to Rot’ and if you’re looking for a clean productions, you’ve come to the wrong place because Filth is exactly what the name implies.

This murky and doom-ridden Death Metal sounds like something you’d expect from a Me Saco un Ojo and Rotted Life collaboration, offering the listener a gritty blend of mid-tempo grooves and deep guttural vocals. Clearly worshipping at the altar of Old School Death Metal, it captures the primitivity of Undergang and Autopsy and the inspiration of bands like Mortuous and Cerebral Rot.

As with much of the New Wave of Old School Death Metal, the result satisfies the urge for those who enjoy the style and the new acts it beholds, yet given the sheer number of releases, it risks being lost in the void.
