A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

When looking for Death Metal, I always look for something that feels unique and that tries to do something different. With Gutvoid’s ‘Breathing Obelisk’ I have found it to have some unique passages in here.

You get a lot in this 4 song EP all packed together in what seems to be like an Old School Death Metal band that soaked itself in Cosmic Horror. Not only that you also get a Progressive feel to the EP as it goes on. Different genres melt together like skin under an inferno.

I think my favorite track on this audio assault is ‘For We Are Many’ as it starts with a whirling chaotic riff that harkens to the likes of Antediluvian, As the track goes on it just gets more and more aggressive, but then you are hit with an Old School Death Metal section that will make you bang your head furiously and want to hit the Circle Pit.

After multiple listens I can already say this band has my attention, and I will be looking to buy the physical of this EP and others in Gutvoid’s discography.
