A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

After being busy with some Corona matters , I’m back listening and reviewing stuff. This time, Proscrito, a band from the beauty city of Sabadell in Catalonia-Spain, punishing with oppressive yet dynamic Doom / Death Metal.

First what came to my mind was Winter’s “Into Darkness”, there are quite some similarities and the influence is notorious,  but there is some old Samael and Hellhammer as well, do you get an idea? Hell yeah, this is ”that” kind of Doom stuff, 5 tracks in 40:25 minutes, lyrics in Spanish and very well executed music. Passages that takes you into abandoned landscapes and deep dark feelings of hopeless dusks after a hard working day, all together with the dynamic riffing and mid-tempo rhythms in with the Celtic Frost / Hellhammer vibe. The 40 minutes go by fast because this does has variation and it helps grab your attention as it is very catchy.

I really enjoyed it and will put “Llagas y estigmas” on my ”to buy after pandemia list”. Recommended! (Gangrene Pus)
