A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Lick the blood of your steel, the crusaders of the Spanish inquisition Inverted Cross have arrived!

The finest thing about the mix of Thrash Metal, Black Metal, and Speed Metal is, in my opinion, that the charm remains intact. It might not always rank at the top quality-wise, but you can still imagine fists being raised live, a Flying V stepping forward during a solo, and leather and spikes being worn rather than just lying on the merch table, but mostly, it is just a brilliant night.

That is exactly what Inverted Cross delivers! Old-school Teutonic Thrash Metal acts as the foundation for these Spaniards, though Venom is never avoided, certainly not on a track like ‘Into the Crypt of the Necromancer’, or the start of ‘Black Leather Hordes’. It all sounds familiar, and it is by no means overwhelming, but ‘Eternal Flames of Hell’, is a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

If one must sacrifice a virgin to Satan, it might as well be accompanied by a fine melody in the background.
