Folter Records chose to release the debut of Norway’s Liktjern, some 12 years after their first release, an EP titled ‘Kulde, pest & død’, which was issued in 2009.
Seeing as Liktjern was actually formed in 1995, it’s safe to say that Kverke, Knokkelmann, and Gud are not the most prolific musicians around, although there are likely reasons for that. In terms of Black Metal, we are heading back to 90s Norway, where you can hear the influence of early Satyricon in tracks like the title song, just with a cleaner production than the sound of that era.
It’s a nice trip down memory lane, but I don’t want to make it sound more important than it is.
