Just for fun I’d put on my first Deranged release I ever had. This is ‘… The Confessions Continues’, their second single, if I’m right, next to ‘The Confessions of a Necrophile’. It’s cool to hear how they’ve developed since then. After that I put on their first mini ‘Architects Of Perversion’. This was labelled, and I quote: ‘Brutal Grinding Death Metal from Sweden in the New York style’.
Compared to the 7′ I just spoke about, this show Deranged moving from Grind/Death to a more Death Metal with grind-approach (though I never really figured out the ‘New York’-style…). Anyway, four albums later we find Deranged to be completely in the album. Not entirely though, as you’ll also hear regular fast parts, cool breaks and even some slow(er) parts here and there, making sure boredom will not take action. Very good and tight songs with some killer riffs, of which some you could say they sound somewhat typical Deranged.
A very brutal production which brings out the best in the music: brutality without mercy! The sixth song on this album has got an eerie and creepy surprise for you. Something you wouldn’t expect from Deranged, but which sound really cool here, sort of an evil intermezzo.
This sure as hell is one fine fucking Death Metal release! It’s nothing really new on the horizon, but it sure is a good release!
