A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Altar has just released its 5th full-length album. I still remember how fast everything went for them with their first 2 albums, there wasn’t any Death Metal fan who didn’t own a Altar-shirt.

However Altar changed their style too extremely on their third album which led to a decrease in popularity. Fortunately, they kept on going strong and kept a stable fanbase. I haven’t heard their previous album ‘In the Name of the Father’ but judging from this new album, I should check it out!

Fuck, this album kills! Altar mixes a lot of different styles nowadays, ranging from Thrash, Heavy and Death Metal without loosing their brutality. That’s quite an achievement. There are also lots of blast beats on this album and many melodic killer riffs. One of my favourite tracks is ‘The Unbeliever’ but also songs like ‘Sick’, ‘Spikes and pain’, ‘Generation X’ and the instrumental ‘To my friends (RIP)’ show that Altar knows how to write some excellent heavy stuff.

Their fans can buy this album without pre-listening, and other metalheads might want to check this very cool album out!
