Again the fourth Master album, and it continues to pound in the familiar way.
Heavy guitar riffs in the Punkish Death Metal style, oem-pah-pah drums, and the now slightly lower-pitched steel throat of Paul Speckmann. This CD brings nothing new, but despite the fact that Master constantly copies itself, it cannot be denied that many Death Metal bands should listen to it to discover what intensity means. Even better, they should listen to Master’s debut, but we’re not talking about that now.
Despite some well-founded negative comments from my friends, I can’t help but conclude that Master has again delivered a nice product. Personal favorites: ‘Cast the first stone’, ‘Antidote’ and ‘Spiritual Bankruptcy’. The first two of these were previously released on the split 7” with the Netherlands’ Excision.
In any case, I can’t wait for the next tour!
