If there’s one thing about Black Metal that has always impressed me, it’s the fact that around the world, different countries have their own unique vibe and take on it, and one such country is Finland.

Finnish Black Metal, to me, is as important in terms of development in its own arena as Norwegian and Swedish, with bands like Impaled Nazarene, Aegrus and Goats Of Doom standing out to me.

However, this release from Beleth’s Trumpet, also from Finland, entitled ‘Chapel Of Bones’, has piqued my interest in the best way possible; with the production crisp, the vocals a wonderfully evil shriek, some excellent focus on riffage on tracks like ‘Extermination Of God’s Dominion’ and ‘Clandestine Ritual’, and an overall sense of dread with slight melodic touches in the vein of Setherial, Necrofier and Boötes Void.

All in all, with the album clocking in at a respectable 42 minutes and change, the album is a welcome addition to your underground Black Metal collection.
