A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

A recreation of an old abandoned Black Metal project. That is one way to explain that the origin of Aphelium Aeternum occurred back in 1995, while the first recordings were released in 2022.

T. Voidgänger, also known as Pestmeister Tairach (Pestnebel, Hexenfluch, ex-Ungod among others), started the project as Aphelium Eternal but its existence only lasted for 6 months. Apparently the urge to bring the project back to life was to hard to ignore in 2019. While composing new songs the style transformed more and more towards the mid-90s Symphonic Black Metal art, a transformation that results into the change from Eternal to Aeternum as second part of the band moniker.

With new members, who are also participating in Black Metal acts like Drudensang and Draugrhanaz, Aphelium Aeternum didn’t dip their toes into the mighty cosmic pool once created by Emperor, Covenant, Obtained Enslavement and such…they have dived in head first.

With dark melodies accompanied with haunting keys, ‘Dark Interstellar Mysteries’ will be very appealing for those who enjoy the thought of an hybrid of Emperor, uptempo-less-synth Limbonic Art and the tracks with the more darker synths on Dimmu Borgir’s ‘Enthrone Darkness Triumphant’ and Covenant ‘In Times Before the Light”.

My compliments towards Aphelium Aeternum; this is mid-90s Cosmic Symphonic Black Metal performed in a great way.
