20 years after the original release, Nuclear War Now! and Headsplit Records joined hands to re-release Vassago’s debut on both 12″ vinyl and cassette. The collaboration between Vassago and Nuclear War Now! not only opened the door to look into and re-issue the demo and split material released before ‘Knights of Hell’, but it also meant Vassago became active again, which results in the ‘Storm of Satan’ album.
The raging, almost Bestial, Black Metal stays intact and no bonus material was added, only the cover got a polish. So this re-release can be seen purely in the “first time issued on vinyl and cassette” category.
When the debut was originally released, the album didn’t get much attention, and it’s not like the re-release by Nuclear War Now! and Headsplit Records causes a huge earth-shattering wave either, but at least fans, collectors who missed out back then, and those who got curious get a second chance to add it to their collection.
