A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

The Spanish Death/Thrash combo Canker disbanded back in 2018, just after the release of their comeback and 3rd full-length album ‘Earthquake’, but Xtreem Music decided to posthumously re-release their 2nd album ‘Exquisite Tenderness’ from 1997. The original label, Visur Producciones, did very little in terms of promotion and distribution, which resulted in very little exposure for this album. Fortunately, this re-release has been given a new, tasteful album cover, as the original was quite poor.

‘Exquisite Tenderness’ is of two minds, the technical side of Death Metal à la Death and Pestilence’s ‘Testimony of the Ancients’ during the leads and solos, or an Invocator, but also a certain groove from that period. It’s not bad, it definitely has its moments. Especially during the solos where the rhythm guitar also plays the right riff as a foundation, but overall it’s not particularly special.
