A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

It seems like yesterday that there was a short moment of time in which the underground got overwhelmed with lots of demos and EPs filled with US Death Metal, some more the cavemen category…others more with a wink towards Bolt Thrower. Fair to say a label like Maggot Stomp had their share then.

Maul from Fargo, North Dakota, walked their own path with their demos, EPs and splits and with “Deity Demise” Redefining Darkness Records released the at first self-released EP on cassette. The Death Metal of Maul has the pounding character of the US Death Metal scene, as well as the more groove kind of mid-tempo Death Metal, maybe a bit hardcore-ish even, and slow doomy parts.

Primitive and pure Death Metal, that is what Maul is all about.
