The Bleeding – Monokrator

the bleeding – monokrator

Info

From the moment you press play, you are hit with some of the heaviest vitriolic Blackened Thrash coming out of the UK at this moment. I had reviewed the recent re-release of their debut and that was good but damn! This is one dials up the intensity factor. If you are already familiar with The Bleeding, good for you; if not, well just think if Kreator was even angrier and faster in their early days. They also remind me a bit of the last 2 albums from the US band Summon.

The band has refined their attack like a finely honed sword, straight and to the point. At almost exactly 30 minutes runtime, they get in and get out. If I do have one very minor qualm about this release is that there is a bit of similarity between the songs and not a whole lot of variation, but with the short runtime, you may not notice this fact too much. We all know the wheel is not being reinvented here, but we all know as well that when a band plays with energy and conviction, we can all appreciate that. The riffing is the main draw here, and the production accentuates this. I also love that the bass is a bit noticeable in the mix, and you get some cool little bass moments scattered throughout the songs.

There is much that I can point out be it the aforementioned riffing, the killer Thrash moshing moments, the vocals just spewing forth the anger of the world or just that cool ass cover art but I will just leave that to you dear readers to venture forth and take that dive (into the pit) for yourselves.
