A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

Haserot from Houston, Texas are a band formed in 2020 but the members aren’t new to the scene, some of them being part of Speed Metallers Helstar or the Death Metal beast Godless Rising.

‘Throne of Malice’ is their debut EP which consists of five tracks of Death/Doom Metal. Good words should be said about the vocalist Justin McKittrik and his combination of deep growls and high screams. Morbid Angel seems to be one of the main inspirations of Haserot, just hear the riffs on the second track ‘Incantations at Dusk’ which also offers some exceptional solos.

The title track ‘Throne of Malice’ has Swedish Death Metal vibes all over it, it is a fast and furious headbanger. The closing tune ‘Through Pain to Conquest’ shows the Black Metal side of Haserot mixed with the US Death Metal sound. The cover artwork is remarkable and the sound production is on a very good level, each instrument can be clearly heard.

Haserot is a promising band and I’m looking forward their next releases.
