A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Alchemy of Flesh is a one-man project delivering the 2nd full length of Floridian Death Metal the way I like it. Like on the first album there is an omnipresence of Morbid Angel throughout the album, something which becomes clear right from the beginning.

This time though the variation is bigger and has got more space for other influences, like the fine thrash-laden ‘The Godhead of Self’. The more dissonant moments on the record remind me a lot of Hate Eternal, sure Erik has got his influence on it too. Technicality paired with groove and straight forward approach for the most of the time without exaggerating.  He knows what he is doing on every instrument and vocal line. ‘On Labyrinthine Fortress’ you got the Morbid Angel vibe in full, perfectly executed, a heavy monster. With ‘Origin of Suffering’ you will get a high dose of punishment in your face and guts! Finish him!

Overall there is also more and more on the slower side, which makes the fast ones even more present and deadlier than before. The production is powerful and well balanced and the artwork truly stands out.

Each track is a banger and has got tons of killer riffs to provide! All fluent with the exact dose of aforementioned characteristics and as a fan of Death Metal you should definitely get yourself a copy.

Tim, keep this thing going! Would be great to see this on stages..
