A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

With ‘Rot Stink Rip’, Tombstoner from the US delivers their second album under the Redefining Darkness Records banner. It all starts with a sinister tone and it jumps immediately into 10 relentless tracks with a definite Old School Death Metal approach. While dual hate filled screaming and cavernous growls telling the tale of hardcore violence and gore, the music itself has memorable riffs, leads and blasts as main focus.

The clarity of the recording is precise, the anger is present and this album reminds me of late 90s Hardcore infused Death Metal with a lot of grind influences by the structure and placement of the riffs and vocal patterns.  ‘Rot Stink Rip’ never lets up and I recommend this to fans of Internal Bleeding, Misery Index, and Dying Fetus.
