Some minds go beyond what the majority (or mediocrity) stands for, accomplishing something that is not of this world or seems to exist anymore. Bestial Devotion is one of those minds. He is not only drummer and backing vocalist in Negative Plane but also doing everything in Funereal Presence, a huge effort when you listen to the work he is doing.
5 years after “The Archer Takes Aim” he finally releases the second album called “Achatius”. Bathory meets Iron Maiden like melodies (heavy metal in a way for sure), some 70 prog air, Stargazer/Negative Plane variations and intrications of styles mixed up in a Black Metal substance from far away, having this ancient feel without sounding old…no it`s sounds actually fresh. Some eerie moments remind me of Cultes Des Ghoules, Mortuary Drape or Death SS. Sick twisted heavy induced thrashing Black Metal the ancient way, but not oldie indeed. Great! (DPF)
