A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

‘Reverence’ is exactly something you’d want out of a Mystískaos release; a swirling maelstrom of forward-thinking Black Metal which defiantly challenges the “norms” we typically observe within the ilk, while effectively retaining the ardor and necessity of yesteryears Black Metal. The bands sophomore release continues to carry the black torch of pummelling and dissonant Black Metal, imbuing their blend of delirious psychedelia against backdrops of magisterial riffing while imparting both a sense of desperate ennui and quiet beauty in one singular movement.

With only two full-length releases to show for in over 6 years, Det Eviga Leendet’s existence within the scene is neither prolific nor anterior, with the entirety of the Stockholm/Uppsala quintet lurking in the shadows of anonymity beyond the bands sole International member, Jacob Buczarski (of Mare Cognitum and Acathexis) who joins the band as vocalist for the first time on ‘Reverence’—Its mark is a pointed statement that authenticity and heft can be cultivated within the ethos of quality over quantity.

There will always be space for acts such as Det Eviga Lendet to play within the scene, whether or not through time and quantity its efficacy will be dulled or become trite doesn’t matter, let’s just enjoy what we have for the time being thanks to labels like Mystískaos and bands like Det Eviga Leendet…
