Throneum is a solid bet if “Dark primitive Black / Death Metal” is a style you appreciate.. Together with fellow Polish Death Metal veterans Kingdom, they’ve blasted out a split that the average Death Metal fan might skip, but fans of a suffocating atmosphere and possessed vocals will love.
Besides three original songs, Throneum has also done a great job covering Unholy with ‘Neverending Day’,. Kingdom takes a different approach to their Death Metal, sounding more like Vital Remains, Krisiun, and Angelcorpse, though their only original track ‘Ścieżka nicości’, is almost 12 minutes long and quite varied in tempo. Their other track is a Sisters of Mercy cover, ‘Lucretia my Reflection’, which they’ve given a Kingdom twist.
As mentioned, the average Death Metal enthusiast may find it less accessible than followers of this particular niche.
