A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Info

It appears that Kyle House, from the likes of Decrepisy, Negative Prayer, and formerly Necrot, Vastum, and Acephalix, has been active with this project since 2011, taking some time before the first results reached the public.

When pressing ‘play’, late Bathory immediately comes to mind, although that feeling partially fades during ‘Oath of Blood’. House aimed for a mix of Bathory’s ‘Nordland’, albums and Thin Lizzy with a grunt. Combine that with some 2000-2002 Immortal mid-tempo riffs, plus I and Demonaz to finish it off, and you get close to the sound of Rökkr.

It’s certainly not an unpleasant listen, but it lacks the drive to press the ‘replay’, button once it’s over.
