Blood Loss – Rehearsal Demo ’23 [Demo]

blood loss – rehearsal demo ’23 [demo]

Info

The award of Best Death Metal Demo of 2022 definitely went to the youngsters of Blood Loss. ‘The Order Of Malevolence’ blew me right off my socks with their great American Death Metal offering, playing their style with verve and dedication and paying homage to bands like Monstrosity, Cannibal Corpse and Malevolent Creation. Although I was really hoping for a full-length album or maybe a debut EP in 2023, the band seemingly used the year to try out some tracks and prepare for that eagerly awaited full-length album. The testimony of that preparation is this ‘Rehearsal Demo ‘23’ demo tape that the band released a few months back.

Despite the fact that a rehearsal demo naturally sounds almost by definition rougher and more unpolished than studio recordings, that roughness here is one you have to get over as a listener. Especially if that good 2022 demo is still fresh in your ears. But, once you get used to the sound quality, you still hear the talented band that had surfaced before. The five tracks, together accounting for some 22 minutes, can all be found on the last two demos and thus unfortunately do not bring any new material. While this tape is obviously great for the collector or completist, this isn’t very suitable for a first encounter with the band, in which case I would still like to refer to ‘The Order Of Malevolence’. By the way, fans can only go to the Italian new Tape Eater Records label for this tape, the self-released version by the band is unfortunately already sold out.
