Amargor – Tenebres i Foscúria

amargor – tenebres i foscúria

Info

Here we go again, the latest outing by Amargor is out and it’s time to delve into Catalunya’s darkest and fiercest spawn!

I can say that Amargor has matured quite a bit since its inception in 2020. Departing from the slow paced and melancholic passage of years past and distilling a much more hateful and angry kind of Black Metal.

In ‘Tenebres i Foscúria’ it’s easy to perceive a feeling of contempt and fury, which translates into a quite distinct experience from all of the other releases in Amargor’s lengthy discography.

Once again I have to point out the poignant use of live drums, since it contributes so much to making the music here contained sound much more lively and aggressive. I have to highlight the third track “Dogmes Pútrids”, since it’s the best example on the album of how effective the drums are in conducting the songs into stormy and angry passages that accentuate the potency of the music.

It’s like the string instruments take a secondary role here, just to give room for the furious drumming and the vocals, which by the way, sounds the best it ever has in this album.

If you’re into noise, angry and incessant music, this album won’t disappoint you in the slightest.

Anyone could use a bit more of “amargor” in their lives (pun very much intended).
