Interviews & Reviews
September 2024

Adam Skalpel Stasiak from Poland is in it for the long haul. Regardless of how the world around him changes and all kinds of technological gadgets are thrown at humanity, this anniversary issue shows that you can stay the same for years without compromising.

The love for underground acts is instantly clear when you see who gets interviewed. With bands like Evil Incarnate, Crucifier, Insepultus, Prehistoric Warcult, and Onslaught Kommand, you enter a domain that the average Extreme Metal enthusiast rarely has in their collection. But in Necroscope, they get plenty of room to unleash their thoughts and opinions.

Technically speaking, the layout is pretty straightforward, although some choices wouldn’t be my personal preference, such as not dividing the reviews into two columns per page. It happens every now and then for one review, but it looks a bit messy when it happens to, for example, one out of fifteen. Also, choosing to work with plastic comb bindings instead of stapling the zine makes turning the pages a bit awkward, with a higher risk of tearing a page.

But these are all small, personal points that stand out, without ruining the fun of reading. What counts is the content, and that is definitely worth it.
