A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Oozing from Chile, Rotten Hate is here with their debut album “Stabbing the Masses” and they stab like a motherfucker…

Rotten Hate’s intro track is a perfect precursor to the medieval speed that follows and as a whole, this recording evokes memories of old Sepultura for me as it contains musical elements that conjure old school witch craft sound. Rotten Hate are holding high the southern cross and Satan would approve of their brand of thrashing black power. Remaining relentless the whole half hour reminding one of Italy’s Barbarian or a crusty Vaultwraith along with the aforementioned Sepultura.

“Vultures” is a stand out head banging fist pumping anthem to evil and “Shooting” goes from toe tapping to face smashing seamlessly. Raw focused fury, lead by corpse throated vocals, quick and heavy no-frills Death Metal…what more do you need, oh yeah a killer sample or two to underscore the whole thing, perfect. A great listen that will have you itching to spin it again. (Bornonthecemetary)
