When Pestilence released ‘Consuming Impulse’ in 1989, no one would believe they could do better. All eyes were on Pestilence when they released ‘Testimony Of The Ancient’ two years later.
Many herald this one as Pestilence’s best album. At that time the Death Metal scene was evolving more technically, which was also true for our Dutch legends. ‘Twisted Truth’, ‘Land Of Tears’ and ‘Presence Of The Dead’ are truly classics in the genre. Each song is separated by an instrumental track of which the last one, entitled ‘In Sorrow’, points out the new direction Pestilence would follow on the upcoming and also last album.
