Once Holland’s greatest Pestilence conquered the world with Death Metal releases such as ‘Consuming Impulse’ and ‘Testimony of the Ancients’. The band’s fourth and also last album ‘Spheres’ is considered as Pestilence’s worst album, leaving all the old fans disappointed.
Au contraire, I’m fond of ‘Spheres’ as Mameli and the rest of the band dared to create something strange in Metal. Their Death Metal is full of jazzy parts, synth guitars and uncommon harmonies. Class songs like ‘Mind Reflections’, ‘Multiple Beings’ and the great ‘Soul Search’ stand through time and dust.
There was a lot of gossip going around about Pestilence and they decided to stop after this release.
