A new review section: Buried by Time And Dust

We added a new review section, coincidentally another Mayhem reference following 'The Past is Alive', with the title 'Buried by Time and Dust'. Over the years, a lot of promos have been gathering dust simply because a fresh wave of promos arrived the following month and they were consigned to oblivion. We will review them here to make a clear distinction with our other reviews. We will also use it to complete a discography in terms of reviews. Feel free to contact us if you would like to submit your music or would like to join the staff.

Finding the correlation that lies betwixt beauty and pain can lead to the most potent art pieces created, for the one who spills forth the woes of a cacophonous mind may find the slivers arranging into a being that speaks a language of two tongues, one that preaches of the fires of hurt while the other in somber tone gifts the hymns of serenity. But together, they copulate into a crescendo that entrances the soul of the mind which drinks from its well.

“Deathly Pale”, the debut offering from Parusight commands forth the speech of Black Metal while fashioning a jewel that resonates a darkened radiance to its pulchritudinous spirit. For the manner in which the atmosphere exhales in its rhythm can be likened to the hand that clutches the thorned rose to admire it’s beauty, while the crimson flows from pierced flesh, intertwining both pleasure and pain, though the grasp around the delicate beauty is tighter, so too does it amplify the pain. Where Parusight excels is in its magick to peel back the flesh of the Black Metal elements to introduce into its being a vulnerable aura to be experienced.

“Love” and “Malignant” are tracks which exemplify the atmosphere that the album commands, for the juxtaposition between the raw like elements coupled with the Victorian gothic undertones crafts an alluring energy to be witnessed. The way in which the tracks are exhibited, the stripped down approach together with the sharp and icy dissonance crafts a foundation for the musical architecture to feel organic in its shape of language. For instance, the percussive energy together with the strings on the track “A Withering Rose” gives forth a rather grandiose spirit but ancient in the same breath it exhales, this very sensation is due to the fusion of instrumental structures and the wraith-like vocals which inturn becomes the very flesh which cloaks this creature, magnifying each note and making the listening experience much more enthralling.

If the soul that crawls through the shards of broken glass to taste the nectar from serenity’s lips, to express the sensation that spikes both pleasure and the wound from that which brings pain, then Parusight would be the manifestation of such journey. For what is found within this debut is a work of art fashioned from the emotional depths that bleeds forth the melody of both melancholy and agony , and from its atrament an honest piece of art is manifested into sound.
